Eygpt-subsitute for guar gum?

I found this in my files. Hope it helps with the question about what to use if

you cannot get guar gum.

it's a legume- and he's allergic to all legumes). Some people mix the gelatin

with water first, then add it to recipes. I skip that, and just add 1 dry

package per 4 cups of flour. mix with the dry ingredients first, before mixing

all together. Sometimes I need to increase the liquids a bit, but that depends

on the recipe. Sorry, you'll have to experiment.>>
