, This just can't go on! I know the MRI can take days to get and a week

for results. Do you have a large hospital that will do them in the ER? That way

you'd get it done today with results on the spot. The only hospital in my state

that does them as emergencies is University of Michigan. It's our highest trauma

hospital in the state. It sounds like you have gotten to that point that your

ready to do what ever you have to do to get the answer. Could you ask your Dr to

admit you to your local hospital for pain, and that way you could get the MRI

during the midnight hours and get the results back in hours. Just thoughts here.

You sound absoluty miserable with pain. I hate to think of you going another

Dear Sue,

No MRI has been done yet. I am supposed to call him today and report how

I am doing, which is not good. I will request one when I call. Unfortunately I

can not lay in the MRI for more than say 20 mins without severe back pain so

I'll have to request that the min number of films be made.

All I know is I'm not really getting any better and this pain is

absolutely unbearable! Something has to be done. This is really awful :-( The

lower back of my head feels like someone hit it with a baseball bat. To make

matters worse it gets worse when I sleep - hence I haven't been getting much

sleep in the past 6 days.

The doc thought it was significant that I had a fever as well. Went

yesterday and got lab work done. Should get results either today or tomorrow.

He's looking for any signs my body is fighting off an infection. Would be just

my luck to get some strange infection that causes severe neck pain :-)

Whatever it is I hope it can be fixed soon. Thanks for your suggestions
