Guest guest
Welcome, Ruth, and whereabouts in CA? I live in no. CA, about 50 miles from San Francisco. I am the 55 year old single, adoptive mother of four, grandmother of two with my two youngest sons still at home to raise. They are ages 12 and almost 16. I was dx'd with SLE, RA, Sjogren's, Anemia, chronic Lyme's, chronic Myofibrositis, and non-insulin dependent Diabetes all between the ages of 30 and 45, but symptoms began when I was ten. I am living proof that Lupus is survivable if you are stubborn enough...LOL. I didn't actually get a full dx until just this year. It took almost 35 years for the word "suspect" to be removed from my chart when the word Lupus appeared. My ANA's were rarely positive, but I had all the other symptoms, plus many more. Took all those years to decide that, yup, it was Lupus, alright. LOL So, tell us more about YOU, and please feel free to jump into any conversation going on the board. We tend to tease each other sometimes, and play games with our brains to keep up our spirits, but you will find the people here to be friendly, supportive, caring, intelligent, funny, and well informed. We LIKE to share our gifts, ask for help when needed, and give when we can. So, again, welcome, and come on along. Guest guest
Hi Ruth, I think most of us have gone through that "so looking forward to feeling better" feeling. I know when I started the symptoms I was 22 and just married. I was a very athletic person, played all kinds of stuff and couldn't understand what was happening to me. Then, when I was finally hospitalized and diagnosed, I was still so naive. I thought it would be something they give me medicine for and make me healthy again. Boy, was I in for a surprise. Still, I think it's better to be diagnosed that to go on for a long time having so many things happen to you and doctors saying it is all in your mind. Welcome. Enjoy yourself and please remember, we are here to support each other, so ask questions, join in conversations and if you feel like whining, go ahead and do it. Mojo Hello and Intro Hi I am Ruth in CA. I am 44, married (he is getting better at laundry) he he, three daughters,31, 20, and 11. I just joined group last night. Just trying to find all information I can. Dr. says he thinks it is lupus I have. Finally ran oodles of tests. I think they tried to drain me dry. I am just so ready to feel better. The last 2 months I have just been getting more and more tired and less strength. At this point I don;t care what is wrong as long as I have something tangible to look at and to work on. I was really tired of hte doctors who think everything wrong with women is mental. I am looking forward to this group.
