Hi !

It was me that was talking about quilts. You were mentioning about tieing

off your quilts, i have a jean quilt that i am going to tie off the center

bit and quilt on the border LOL i just have to get the center finished. I

don't have a pattern for this one so i am guessing as i go along. My mom

and i just talked about what she had seen and i looked on the net and kind

of got a general idea of what to do and away i went. I might have to pick

your brain about the right way to tie things off if you don't mind?

I am going to make a few adult bibs for a friends mom, i had made a few out

of towels but with summer coming they are too thick for her to use. So i am

going to use a couple of quilt blocks i had messed up on and use them for to

make some lighter weight ones.

I totally agree that it takes your mind off the pain and other problems in

your life. One night i was talking with my g/f about the zen of the sewing

machine's sound and how peicing the quilt together was calming because you

can take all of these little unconnected peices and make them into something

whole. She just looked at me like i was crazy but she became more

supportive of me sewing for hours at a time.

Your outdoor nature quilts sound like they are going to be beautiful. I

haven't quite gotten brave enough to try more than straight blocks I have a

pattern for an applique that i would really like to try when i get brave

enough. You also mentioned pinning them with safety pins, there is a

quilting gun that you can get from walmart (about $15) that is so much

easier on your hands. I use the heck out of mine and love it. You had also

mentioned labels, i have lots of sites with some very beautiful labels, i

will send them directly to your email to save the list from a long list of

url's.

I also belong to another Yahoo group called CreativelyQuiltingAndSewing that

is really fabulous and has given me lots of tips and hints and " oh I didn't

know that " moments. I will send you that link as well in pvt and if anyone

else would like it just drop me an email.

LOL k now i am rambling, can you tell i love quilting?
