MM, I am doing it in sage greens, creams and tans. the block pattern is

called Bear's paw and the border i just kinda figured out on the fly. it's

all rotary cut and machine sewn, i haven't gotten brave enough to try hand

sewing an entire quilt. I actually have 3 quilts on the go right now, the

other one i just finished sewing all the blocks for it, that one is for a

raffle a social group i belong to is holding for charity. the 3rd one is

for me, it's a jean quilt that i have been scrounging jeans for the past 5

years and i finally got enough to do it with. I am updating my webpage

right now and as soon as i have it up i will let you know so you can see.

I started sewing because i have found that it actually helps my hands most

of the time. I might be stiff and sore when i start but when it's time for

me to quit my hands feel almost normal. I just have to remember to get up

and move around so i don't screw up my back and legs.

Why put it off? lots of places have one day sewing classes over the weekend

that you actually complete the project in one day and you learn all of those

skills. Most of them are pretty cheap too, the quilt shop here for a full

weekend of classes it's $40 and that includes lunch. Or if you want to

learn your machine you could go to a machine sales store and normally they

will give you a class on your machine and all of it's features for free.

hmmm Looking forward to retirement? LOL
