Guest guest
I emailed Dr Herzenberg concerning 's foot and he was also a bit concerned about her extreme sensitivity. He told me to stop doing any manipulation of her foot and concentrate on desensitization. He gave me some tips to follow to make sure sees the touching as gentle and soothing. He also said that if there is not improvement over the weekend then he wants me to bring her in for an Xray to make sure there is not a fracture. He said he's never seen that after cast removal but that it is possible. He did say that her foot would likely be swollen if there was a fracture and her foot is definitely not swollen so I'm not overly concerened that THAT is the issue. She crawled just a few moves tonight in the DBB so hopefully we are just having very slow progress. Still won't put her foot down to the ground though. Guest guest
Hello Marilouise. Is 's foot better today? Did Dr. H have any other ideas aside from the fracture? If she is moving around in the DBB, I doubt that is the problem. Did he say anything about bringing her back in to have a look on Monday? Like you said, maybe she is just a little more sensative than others in this situation. I hope she is feeling better real soon! Let me know if you go to Dr. H on Monday. Guest guest
Hi , Thanks for asking. She is really getting around better with the DBB on today. She is getting more frustrated now but not crying in pain. She can't figure out how to get from sitting to crawling or vice versa. I have to keep showing her and I'm sure she'll get it. She hasn't had her *free* time yet today so we'll see what kind of reaction I get when she does and her foot is being touched. We see Dr. H again next Friday, 9/24, for a check.
