Guest guest
jai, I have had mono..I had a bout in HS and then again in my senior yr of college. I am seeing my old rheumatologist Friday...my primary called and got me in to see her asap. I am glad she is awesome...I guess the opthamologist was rude or something and got her pissy when he had spoken to her and that's why she wouldn't see me as an emergency...but all is fixed now. I used to be on methatrexate...was hoping to start on remicade but now have an infection so know i won't be starting it for at least another 11 or 12 days. So most likely will be put on something sooner so probably back to methatrexate. RA is very painful...but I have gone into some remissions in the past. It's most bothersome in the winter months...flares up really bad in the cold and with weather changes. I feel it mostly in my ankles, feet and hands. I am having physical changes in my hands and feet from it now..not pretty..lol. I did find out I have a ganglian cyst on my right hand and that it is affecting the ulner nerve...I had one removed in 2000 but it seems to have grown back again and is causng the same problem as before..so most likely with have to be removed again with surgery..but I have a very good hand surgeon who I love to death. I totally agree that the last dr I saw was demented...and I really am glad i don't ever have to deal with him again. I got the results of my eye tests..and the results are not good..I have significant loss of vision in the right eye...hoping once they start treating me it will improve and get back to normal..or close to normal. I am glad you are improving..the worse thing with pleurisy is the sharp pain when trying to breathe...so I am glad you are over that part. It amazes me that we can have so many of the same diseases...I hope we don't share any new ones though...hope we are done getting diseases we have enough already...lol. Hi Ginny, I hope that the doc puts you on something for the RA. As I understand it it is extremely painful. I have a friend who has it, she is scared to give herself the shot of methatrexate so I would give it to her every week. I know she suffered terribly from the RA. Why is this demented doctor pushing the optic neuritis on the back burner? Anything to do with the eyes needs immediate attention!!!! I would not wait for that loser, go see someone else, and ophthalmologist at least they will have a clue!!!! I am feeling better each day, still feel a little short of breath though. Hope all is will with you, Take care, Love Jai PS Have you ever had Mono? I had it, it's no fun!! I just ask because it is an autoimmune disease and it seem that we get the same things LOL!!!!!
