> I may be moving to the Washington area kind of around Puget Sound Olympia

WELCOME TO WASHINGTON, Sue!!!

If there is anything you need to know, just ask! The Washington EDS support

group has an email list on Yahoogroups.

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/WAEDS/ You are welcome to join us! We

have a small list of WA doctors on our database. If you are near the Navy

Base, I suppose you will be near Bremerton. I think we have members of our

local group in that area who can give you doctor referrals.

Hi,

I live in unicorporated Kent. It's north of Olympia (I think it takes about 1

hour to drive to Olympia), and south of Seattle - about 20 miles.

I think our hospitals are fantastic.

We have the University of Washington medical center. That's where Dr Byers

works.

And, Swedish Hospital is fantastic. I think most people would choose Swedish if

they had a choice. My mother in law came over from Missoula, Montana for back

surgery there. They have lots of clinics all over the Puget Sound with the

doctors from Swedish.

If you have kids, we have the Tacoma children's hospital, which is Bridge.

And, Seattle Children's hospital.

I've been to both, and both are excellent.

Our huge trauma hospital is Harborview in Seattle.

Those are the big ones that I know of.

And, of course, all the smaller ones in between.

We go to either Valley Medical center in Renton (that's where had her

lung surgery), or

for minor things - Auburn Regional Hospital (that's where I had my hysterectomy)

and I go there for things like broken bones or stitches, cause they are never

busy.

If you are gonna be in Olympia, I don't know of the hospitals down there. But,

from what I hear, the drive up to Seattle to go to either Swedish or UW is well

worth it.

Mike and Barb can tell you if I missed anything, and their opinions. They've

lived here longer than I have (I think).

And, Mike lives here, of course, so you will have his magic hands nearby.

Hugs,

PS -- do you know where, exactly you will be moving to? Which base?
