Do you get used to the medicine and are able to drive? I've been using Duragesic patches for 6-8 years & never stopped driving, nor was it ever effected in anyway. When you tried it last time, you were physically, in a very different place, dealing with several other things & I really don't think you can judge your Duragesic use from then, with where you are now. Like any other drug, you start low & work your way up. I believe the lowest is 25, then 50, 75 & 100 is the highest. If you need more, you have to wear more than one patch. It takes at least a week or so (some more) to really level itself into your blookstream, though like all meds, it's different with different people. And while you're getting it going, you may need to supplement it with whatever you normally use to combat pain. But you'll know when you don't need to supplement, you'll stop reaching for the bottle! To me, it's been a life saver. It keeps you on much more on an " even keel " , no high ups & low downs. And you can still, if needed take something if you need to for breakthrough, even if it's Tylenol, ibuprophen, or one of the narcotics, from low level to high. I use MSIR with it & none of it has ever affected my driving ability. If anything, it made it easier. Luv Ya,
Guest guest
, Thanks for the info on the Duragesic patch. I did also get your off list email and will respond more soon, just can't tolerate being at the computer for long. Hugs, Sue
