Yes this is true...my older son with autism, 8 years, has not been immunized for

chicken pox because it is not required for his age. But my younger son had to

be immunized for that, he'll be 7 next month. I did let him have that shot. He

has never had reactions to shots, so I let the doctor give it to him. All the

others I do not allow.

I had forgotten about the chicken pox for younger kids. Honestly, I'm not sure

how to get out of that one. The only thing maybe to me would be to expose him

to pox and hope he gets them. Anyone else???

Chicken pox vaccine is made using aborted fetal tissue. You can easily

object due to personal or religious beliefs on this one.

This is one of the craziest immunizations to be mandated. Not only does it only

protect about 40% of the time, but if the immunity wears off when a child is an

adult, watch out, it can be deadly to get chicken pox as an adult. Not to

mention how many kids develop shingles after that vaccine. I refused and signed

a religous waiver on all of my kids. Unfortunately, my boys had already been

fully vaccinated, including this one, but they won't get anymore in the future.

My daughter caught the chicken pox, so I was relieved.

I just talked to a dude yesterday that had this happen to a friend at his job.

He said the guy got all of his boosters on schedule, but he actually caught the

chicken pox virus at 55 and died from it. He told me that the pox didn't act the

same way they do with children. He said the poor guy was so covered in them that

they said he died of suffocation.
