Guest guest
Hey Kari! Sorry you had a false start. Discouragement is hard, I know. And, I'm sorry I wasn't there for you. YOu sounded so gung-ho that I mistakenly thought that you didn't need me! I agree that you shouldn't get down on yourself - you are a great person, with so much to be thankful for (as we all are!). I am joining you on a recommitment of goals for this year. I am starting on Monday. I actually have to work a full day on Monday, so I am not going out anywhere Monday night. Therefore, I decided, there is no good reason to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday, just get started! I still have about 100 pounds to lose and I think I can do it in a year or less. I am not able to do the induction with you, because my surgeon wants me to have specific foods each day - primarily beans and fruit - which are not too low-carb, so I will be doing the maintenance level of carbs - between 50 and 90 per day. I am not going to count carbs specifically, just eat all induction type foods and then add the fruit and beans to that. I can't find my Atkin's book, but I have some other low-carb books and cook books, so I will post thoughts from those from time to time, if that is okay? Take care Kari! I'm thinking of you and rooting for you! Love, Carb Police wrote: > Well, sadly , nobody joined me and I got very discouraged, like sometimes I am invisible. So I didnt stay with it totally but I am doing a lot better. I am re-reading the book again. The one thing about it is that I refuse to get down on myself, ever since Sept. 11th (remember that commitment thing I posted back then?), I promised myself that I would stop getting so down on myself, be happy that I have life and have a more positive attitude. THAT I can say I am doing, but I am very aware that I need my low carb diet and exercise to get this weight off. I now have a new book right here in front of me with sweet, feisty Dr. A on it and am going to do my best to get this weight off me! > > When I posted that originally, I was raring to go, but I didn't have much support or accountability... hopefully I can do it now with just the help of Dr. Atkins! > > Kari > Re: Day 1 PUSH - It's day 18 now! > > So, Kari, how is it going?
