Hysterectomy & Family History

Hi Everyone,

I have been dealing with heavy bleeding, clots, and cramps for a

long time now, I'm 39 years old. I was told I had fibroids and my

uterus was the size of a 10 week pregnancy. Both my mother and

grandmother had to have hysterectomy's due to excessive bleeding and

fibroids. My mother actually hemorrhaged and had to have an

emergency hysterectomy. I know I have do to something, I can see

what's comming, so I asked my doctor about a Endometrial Ablation,

the " rollerball, " and he said that would not be an option for me.

He explained other procedures, but told me I should try birth

control pills, or have a hysterectomy. I was not prepared to hear

this. Even though I knew it was a possibility, I was hoping for an

alternative, something not so drastic. Hearing from people in a

similar situation will really help.
