Guest guest
, Thanks for sharing your story. I am participating in a clinical trial in Boston and my treatment date is Jan. 20th. I have been excited up until now. I'm starting to feel fearful because I'm worried about adhesions. All the " what if's " are circling around in my head...like what if the fibroid is adhered to my rectum and they " zap " me with high intensity FUS and burn my rectum? I'm wondering if the Dr. or technician can clearly decipher what is normal tissue and what is tumor. Sometimes it seems these MRI pictures miss things like little fibroids and adhesions? I mention fear of rectal burning because I know my fibroid is posterior and I often have the sensation that it is pressing my anus out! I have hemorroids and have to load up on fiber every day or I can't poop. So, excuse me for being blunt, but I'm wondering if I should trust that these highly qualified people know what they're doing. I wonder about the other 200 women who have gone before me, and I imagine if there were negative results from the treatment that I would know about them. Anyway, I just want to put my fears on-line and would appreciate any feed back or thoughts as the time ticks closer to my " big day " . Many thanks~ aelliott60 wrote: in addition to the adeno, endo, and the " one " fibroid, the lab results indicated that i had numerous smaller fibroids that had not shown up on any ultrasound or the MRI. AND the thing that the doc said he spent the most time on during the surgery was adhesions caused by the endo - part of my intestines were adhered to my pelvis!! for someone like myself who thought she just had fibroids, there was a whole lot more shakin' going on inside!
