post myo one day report (long)!

Hello everyone,

Well,I had my myo yesterday at 2:20 in the afternon and it went very smoothe.

The operation was only 45 minutes. The doc removed 1 baseball size fibroid in

the fundus and 12 other of various sizes which didn't show on the ultrasound

which varied in size from corn kernels to grapes. He said he massaged the wall

of my uterus feeling for little ones so he said he feels like he got all of

them. He said some of the fibroids were on the outside of the uterine wall. am

sitting up on lots of morphine while my boyfriends lays in the hospital bed

right now. I feel energetic and happy that it's all done.

I arrived at the hostpital at 12:00 PM and was escorted to a prep room. My

boyfriend and father were in there with me. A nurse took my vitals, I signed

paperwork and they gave me a gown to change into and some socks. After that I

said goodbye to my guys and waited in a cubby room and my doc came by to say hi

and the anesthesiologist came by and asked questions and answered my questions.

I asked him if they could give me a local where the incision would be after I

was under general. I got this idea from reading one of your suggestions. They

did do that.

The last thing I remember is being wheeled into OR and saying hi to the staff

and then I was out. I woke up in a recovery room and it felt like I was there

for 5 minutes but it was really an hour. My dad and boyfriend met up in the hall

and then into a private hospital room which was a nice suprise. My dad and

boyfriend came into my room and I stayed up until 11 that night visiting. I felt

great...very relieved. My nurses have all been really nice. I am still on a

liquid diet. I have been hiccuping alot. I was only allowed to drink a little

dixie cup of water yesterday after surgery and my mouth was so dry. I got some

lip ointment that really helped.I brought pjs to the hospital but with the iv I

have just been more comfy with the gowns (i wear 2 to cover my butt)I walked up

and down the hall today. I bled alot yesterday but today only spotting

I will write more soon when I am off the hard drugs! but i do hope this makes

sense and will gladly answer any questions.

All in all it went great.The worst part of all of this was the waiting and

stress from that. I haven't seen my incision yet but the doc said it's about 3

1/2 inches. It's worth it to me to be done with these energy robbing growths!!
