Guest guest
Re: Medic Alert Bands - TJ and Others and School statistics - Jill - the school may not provide a real laptop for to take notes on. There are other smaller keyboards that are available that district may have readily available - an Apple E board (I'll have to ask my on the name) or another gadget which I can't think of the name either, but it's a word processing machine. You can ask the teachers to get copies of THEIR notes for your daughters. One thing that has helped us get my 's IEP for orthopedic disability this past year was talking to the school nurse and the school social worker. They were instrumental in helping us get the classification. In Wisconsin, during the Junior year, kids with ortho handicaps get Dept of Vocational Rehab transitioning to help with careers, colleges etc. But, you HAVE to have the ortho classification, not JUST the 504 classification. and I meet with the teachers at the beginning of the school year and explain her needs, that she is sick quite often and misses school frequently. My handwriting was and still is bad. It changes all the time even within a paragraph if I'm writing it out. I much prefer the computer these days!! Good luck with everything!
