Apologies first for the first email being so short, my mind wasn't (and still isn't I must admit) working at full capacity Sunday. Too much 'numbness' from the shock I suppose. Sunday morning at 7:20am EST, got up with an asthma attack, made it to the restroom, where she began her nebulizer treatment. Called for help, to bring ice and fans and diabetes kit. After doing so, could tell she wasn't going to be able to handle it with what she had here at the house, so took phone to Dad who proceeded to call 911. By the time got back to , she was slumped against the wall, with no pulse and not breathing. He called out for me and together we were able to get her onto the floor and start CPR. Within 5 minutes the paramedics were at the house and took over CPR and attempted to get an IV going. Even after a couple doses of Atropine, they were unable to get a response. Within 15 minutes of the initial call to 911, she was headed to the hospital via ambulance, but neither they nor the ER staff were able to resuscitate her. She always wanted to go quickly, and never have to endure another stint on a ventilator, with a machine living her life for her. I honestly hope and believe that she was gone before we were able to start CPR on her. did not want a big funeral with lots of tears for her. She wanted people to remember the good things, to celebrate her life, and not dwell on her passing, as she was going to a better place, and pain-free place, where she could do all the things she was once able to do but could not in the past several years of her life. There won't be a large funeral service, but there will be a closed-casket viewing available for those that need to say goodbye. It will be at the Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home - Orlando Chapel, 301 NE Ivanhoe Blvd, Orlando, FL from 5p -9p Thursday, April 1. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to any of the following: American Heart Assn, American Lung Assn, Lupus Foundation of America, or the American Diabetes Assn. Thank you all for being such caring friends of 's. You made her life so much more enjoyable with you in it. We, along with the hundreds upon hundreds of people that touched throughout her life, will sorely miss her. But, her love will always be with us, in our hearts, and in our souls. Jack Sewell (husband) & Sewell (sons) ---------- Do Not Weep Please, do not weep for me, for I have finally made it home. My homecoming was a joyful one, even though the road was long. I was met by friends and family, passed over before my time, and guided into the place of love I had found in my dreamtime. Everything here is beautiful, so clean, so fresh and new; I wish that you could close your eyes and that you could see it too. Please try not to be sad for me for now I dwell in a land so fair; try to understand the beauty of being in the Creator’s care. I have followed the path full circle from birth, through life, and demise and now I have been reborn again and can live wearing any disguise. So next time you see bright confetti flying high in the bright blue sky, you will know it is I just visiting dressed as a delicate butterfly. © July 2003 “Rion” Sewell
