They ran the rotter-rooter through me and said I’m clean. I used to take cytotec. That diarrhea thing is awful isn’t it? You are late for an apt. How do you explain you couldn’t get more than 3 feet from the toity? If it is a girlfriend I tell her just that! Guest guest Posted April 22, 2004 Report Share Posted April 22, 2004 I have the ulcerated kind of colitis. I get bleeding "ulcers" in my colon. Sometimes I lose large quantities of blood. When that happens my GI doctor always wants me to take prednesone but I always refuse....I'm stubborn. I do have to take Asacol, 3 pills, 3 times a day plus Imodium and depending on the situation I use suppositories during the day and enemas at night. I tell you it's a real pain in the a**. There are times UC controls my life. The scary thing is........it can get worse. There are people with UC who are much sicker than I am. I am learning to control it better with diet. Diet.....now that's funny. I had to go to a nutrition class because of elevated lipids. They told me I had to eat lots of fiber, fresh fruits and vegetables.......not. I get very sick if I do that. A lot of good that class did me. Oops.....I'm kind of off the subject of Lupus but UC is an autoimmune disease. Right now ,though, it is my main problem. Yeah, the diarrhea this is awful! I'm sick of it! I sometimes end up in the ER because of dehydration. There have been times when I just can't replace the fluids I lose fast enough because of the diarrhea. UGH!
