I've used garlic-mullein oil from the hfs very successfully. But if you can't

get any tonight, I also did this: lightly smash a big clove of garlic and

sautee it briefly in a little olive oil. Let the oil cool down and drip some

into

the ear. I think I stuck the big piece of garlic in there too for a bit (not

down into the ear, more like one of those tiny earphones lol). Anyway, that

seemed to help too. Hope he feels better...

Yes, mullein drops have worked really well for us too. Ethan is not

normally prone to ear infections but he had two of them not too long

ago and each time, mullein drops along with a homeopathic ear drop

kept him off of antibio's. I did give him some advil at night for

pain so that he could sleep, but really, once I started him on the

drops, the next nights, he didn't even seem in pain. He slept well.

The drops go in the ear canal. I think ours was a brand that had

both garlic and mullein oil in it.

Also, sleeping with a warm pad to the ear can also help them feel

better.

Garlic Oil works really well. Warm it up first. If you go to a health food

store, they will guide you to the oils.

A great book for those of you whose children suffer from chronic ear

infections is Childhood Ear Infections by Schmidt. Just so you know, it

is

written by a chiropractor so it gives many alternative solutions to drugs and

surgery.
