No, he needs a lot more vitamin C and vitamin A and some milk thistle extract. Probably a lot more zinc too. >I also give him Cod Liver Oil and Primrose Oil. Guest guest
Hi. I know you asked this question of Andy, so forgive my jumping in here. but I just wanted to comment that my daughter’s self-injurious behaviors become much worse when the chelation doses are more than 4 hrs apart. In fact, as we approach 4 hrs. she begins headbanging, so for us, the night dosing is crucial to keeping her from “flipping out” and becoming self-injurious. And the extra anti-oxidants that Andy mentioned make a BIG difference on how she handles the chelation. Less SIBs with more antioxidants. Guest guest
Marina; We've seen so much " flipping out " over the years that I didn't really give it much thought until his head actually started going through the walls. We thought magnesium that we give him once in a while for constipation may be helping him remain more calm but other factors could not be discounted as the cause since all the flipping out seems to happen for no apparent reason. I also had to convince my wife to pay more attention to Andy than the doctor we saw and his answer has helped with that. Your insight will also help. Thanks. > Hi. > I know you asked this question of Andy, so forgive my jumping in here. > but I just wanted to comment > that my daughter's self-injurious behaviors become much worse when the > chelation doses are more > than 4 hrs apart. Guest guest
We always try to play it by ear. You might consider rotating days for mineral and vitamin intake. I'm pretty sure that every so often you reach a point where you have to clear the slate. In our case, we thought it was " just the metals coming out " , but we reduced the intake of everything and saw improvement. It could be that our son isn't tolerating one or more of them right now. We skipped for a couple days and the day before yesterday our son had his best day since becoming poisoned. We put them back in yesterday morning and things slipped some. Milk thistle is for liver support, it is not an antioxidant, at least not that I know of. >>Any other antioxitiant ideas to use while > chelating??? Vitamin C, vitamin E, selenium, a few other things. Dana

BTW, I do NOT think I have " enough " information to give the best suggestions possible, so I also suggest that you read up on liver support and liver detox in general. I've written about this so many times that I really need to make a page about it so that I can stop retyping similar stuff. Anyway, here are some things that are good for liver: 1. milk thistle (I say this for others reading, so that it won't be overlooked--- I realize you, Laurie don't want to use it). Milk thistle is an EXCELLENT liver support, and can be safely used by most for months at a time. 2. low or no use of toxins/drugs/etc. This means low: coffee, caffine, alcohol, pesticides, chemicals, hormones (e.g. in meat), Rx drugs, OTC drugs... 3. beets (in moderation-- they are strong) 4. fenugreek seed sprouts 5. acupuncture and Chinese herbs (see an acupunturist) and a couple of fairly obscure ones: 6. coffee enemas (probably not a good idea with kids) 7. " funnelling " with ozone gas over the liver (this requires having a medical ozone machine, which makes this an impractical suggestion for most people) good wishes, Moria
