Guest guest
The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery has formally published the hip resurfacing study of Dr. Amstutz and colleagues. This study covers the first 400 Conserve Plus hips (these preceded the formal clinical trial) with a follow-up of 2.2-6.2 years. The abstract can be found here: http://www.ejbjs.org/cgi/content/abstract/86/1/28 You may obtain access to the html and pdf copy of the study by clicking on the " Full Text of This Article " and paying $20 with a major credit card. It is expected the publication of this peer-reviewed article will help those seeking evidence for insurance appeals. Good luck to you all. Presumably it will also aid the application for for US FDA full marketing approval which has already been submitted. Also of interest in the same issue is a study showing the long-term dislocation rate for the standard THR is about 5%. This is higher than the short term rate of about 2%, often cited. http://www.ejbjs.org/cgi/content/abstract/86/1/9 Full table of contents is here: http://www.ejbjs.org/content/vol86/issue1/index.shtml -
