This is our first full year for me with SS and private disability. When Mike

finished our taxes last night, I was horrified at how much we owe again. It is

getting worse ad worse instead of better. He says the reason is we are having

to withdraw money from an IRA to pay for expenses...certainly not our wild ,

crazy and fun life style!

I do not understand how and why SS should be taxable. They give it to you and

then snatch it right back again! It just seems so unfair for people who have

such huge pharmacy and medical expenses to have to pay such huge taxes when

are hardly making it.

The good ole American way! Ha! :( It all really depresses me.. and Mike. We

will have to take all year paying off our taxes.

We owe more than what I get on disability.

I watched a program on the History channel the other night

about " peasants in Medieval England. " They made a couple of very

interesting comparisons about the " down-trodden peasants " of back-

then against the modern day " middle class " .

The " work burden duty " that peasants owed the Lord of the Manor was

40 days a year. It currently takes on average at least 80 just to

earn enough to pay the annual income tax. Ain't progress grand!
