If one doesn't have insurance or copays are different, it does cost a lot less, but that's not really the reason to chose one over the other. With me it was a stupid psychological block, because I'm an RN & was concerned @ people that worked with me at the time, though I think that it was really ignorant of me, in retrospect. I used the MSContin for many years & switched to Duragesic years & years ago, just cause I was very tired of taking of taking pills & was happy with the MSContin & am with the Duragesic. I think it's 6 of one & 1/2 dozen of the other. I'm sure others are taking Methadone. did you ask on ednf.org?

I saw you asked about the other meds. Dylan just stopped taking Methadone about 3 weeks ago. He had tried it for about may 5 months. Most people do very well with it. Lots of relief with little side affects. The Drs like to use it, because it is thought to be the safest narcotic on the organs. It's the choice that is made if pregnant moms have to take a narcotic. Dylan just had too many side affects. He reacts differently than most people to most pain meds. He's a tough cookie to figure out for the Docs. Also it is very cheep if you don't have insurance. He had gone up to 60 mg a day, but his pain was still around an 8. With the side affect problems, it was just time to try something else. He is on the patch now. Still working on dosage. There are others on the board using methadone. Cindylouwho

I'm gittin more ticked by the moment , i mean - not only did he mmake me come in 2 months ahead of my appointment and be sore from the ride...... he also sugar coated my mental ability........ LOL- think its time to give in........ and just because my right leg is dead doesnt mean it cant do things......... I've trained it........ it goes now where I want it to- brain power I guess........... Guest guest
TJ, I did miss you post I think. I'm sorry - I don't use Methadone, so I have no experience to help you with. Just wanted you to know I saw it this time! Good luck - if you don't get any answers, please re-post your question. Love Lana
