I do collect first editions but I also have far more that are not first

editions. I like to read mysteries and most of my firsts are in that genre.

I do have the first editions of Harry Potter from USA and from Great Britain.

Take care,

Irene

Books may well be the only true magic

Alice Hoffman.

Irene,

Do you read Dick Francis at all? He's a British author who writes

mysteries set around the British steeplechasing industry. My most

prized first edition is the first USA printing of and .

When I called the rare book store about it, I thought the guy I spoke

to was going to pee his pants, until he realized it was the first New

York printing, not the first London printing. LOL. I still treasure

it.

Have a good day,

yes, I do read Dick Francis. There are most likely not going to be any more

books from him. His wifw, died and as they wrote the books together, he

has decided not to write anymore. This could change, of course. Who can say

what the future holds.

My favorite first edition is " Goodnight, Irene " signed by the author. That

song drove me nuts when I was in my teens and still does to this day. Why

people feel that they need to sing that to me is beyond me.

Take care,

Yea!!! More bibliophiles!!! My husband and I are *both* avid

readers...We've got bookcases all over our apartment that are overflowing

with books...and I haven't told you about the boxes we have in storage...

We collect first editions of our favorite authors.

What do you all like to read? Non-fiction? Fiction? Murder? Suspense?

Romance?
