I wear custom made orthotics in my shoes which SURE help, but apart

from that I tend to go for long neoprene ankle supports and sometimes

even put them on upside down so that the long part goes down the

length of my ffot.

I also have AFO's, a cam walker brace, various other ankle braces.

But find either the orthotics or the ankle sleeves up side down work

best so far, My AFO doesn't fit me anymore as my last foot injury

changed the shape of my foot.

Or you can go for something more than a simple orthotic but less than

a full AFO like this

http://www.orthomerica.com/products/pediatric/tc2/tc2_smo.htm or this

http://www.orthomerica.com/products/pediatric/tc2/tc2_submo.htm

(these are pediatric models but any good orthotist should be able to

make you something similar for rigid foot control and if they put a

non slip walking bottom i=on it then you don't have to wear shoes all

the time (you could have 2, 1 for in shoes and 1 for no shoes).

Just thought I would let you know.
