Do you know what I just remembered? was six months old when he had

RSV, and Marc and I both stayed at hospital with him. (thank goodness Marc

was on vacation; he'd gone back to the boats when was 7 weeks old)

Late late at night, when all the kids were asleep, the parents of all the

kids on ward would gather in the lounge and chat. There were a LOT of kids

on ward then; there was an RSV outbreak.

ANYWAY, the parents of the boy across the hall from had a HORRIBLE time

getting their son to take the mists and such - he was about 4, and would

kick and fight and scream and yell, causing himself to stop breathing...and

so on... One night, the couple told us that their boy was autistic.

Well, I WORSHIPPED them. I looked at my baby, and I looked at that 4 year

old across the hall, and I thought, " How the hell do they DO it? "

Now I know. Now I also know how they always seemed to love him SO MUCH.
