NEW RHEUMY

Greetings Fellow Lupies,

I just wanted to let you all know that I have FIRED MY RHEUMATOLOGIST.!!

I called my insurance company and got a name of a new Rheumy......who happens to be nearer to me......and called his office to make an appointment.......I was told that I need to have my Primary Care Doc. send him my Labs, his office notes, and the reason he feels I need a Rheumatologist......When he receives these things....he will review them.....then his office will contact me to set up an appointment.

I then called my Primary Care Doc........and have an appointment for next Tuesday for Labs. I have to Fast before the labs.

When I told my Doctor's nurse about how Dr. Ali had treated me.........(or rather not treated me} ......she said that they had recieved lots of complaints like that about Dr. Ali......I told her that if she would look at my file .......she would notice that in the last six months ......I had been in to see a doctor at their clinic for all my Lupus related illnesses .After trying to get a response from Dr. Ali for 2 or 3 days......I would finally give up and just go to the After hours clinic and see the Doctor on call. I haven't had any lab work done in 6 months........

She said that when she told Dr. Ohman that " they had recieved another complaint about Dr. Ali.......he told her to make sure that they don't refer any more patients to her !"

When I asked what kind of feedback they had recieved about Dr.Kier.....the Rheumy I want to see......she said they had heard nothing but good things about him......so things are looking up........Just the fact that he wants to see my labs and office notes so he can review my case makes me feel better........Dr. Ali would never look at my files from my other doctors.......I had brought her the 'HUGE FILE FOLDER' of my previous care that I had recieve from my last Rheumy who had treated me since I was diagnosed in 1997......She wouldn't even look at it......."I will do my OWN tests".........The Bitch!.......and she never sent me a notice about how my labs had been.

My old Rheumy always sent me a card letting me know how my labs were and what he was concerned about .......and sometimes would have me come back for more testing to make sure there were no mistakes.

When I talked to my Insurance Company I asked if there was a way I could file a complaint about Dr.Ali.........Sooooooo they are sending me a complint form for me to fill out and send back to them. Hopefully.....Dr. Ali will be removed from their Network of Doctors.
