Guest guest
Hello everyone We are back here in Norway with our son treated for clubfeet using the ponseti method. We got the FAB brace this june and thought the brace would be removed after 3-4 months. We talked to our hospital yesterday and they said that he would have to have the brace on until about he was about one years old. How long have you guys had the brace on your kids? In the Ponseti papers I've got it says that the brace should be removed after 3 months after the cast has been removed but still keep the brace on at night time. What is correct here? Yours Morten Petterson
Guest guest
Hi Morten, The brace should be worn 23 hours/day for the three months after the last cast is removed. Then down to 16-18 hours/day until they crawl and then naps and night until they walk, then night until they are 3- 4 years old. Taking them out of the brace earlier will likely cause a relapse. Hope this helps. Louisa 6-27-99 Zoe 2-22-04 RCF > Hello everyone > > > > > > We are back here in Norway with our son treated for clubfeet using the > ponseti method.
