Guest guest
I just added another book to my reference library. When my wife was looking at quilts on Wednesday, I was browsing used book stores. In one of them, I found " Everything You Need To Know About Medical Tests. " It was put out by the Mayo Clinic in 1996 and gives details on over 400 different tests - why they're done, the risks, what happens during and after the test, normal results, and meanings of abnormal results. The sixteen chapters are: 1 - X-rays 2 - CAT & MRI 3 - Nuclear Medicine Scans 4 - Ultrasound 5 - Heart & Brain Monitoring 6 - Endoscopy 7 - Biopsies 8 - Vision & Hearing Tests 9 - Special Function Tests 10 - Blood Cell & Clotting Tests 11 - Blood Element Tests 12 - Hormone Tests 13 - Immune System Tests 14 - Urine Tests 15 - Cultures 16 - Fluid Analysis From what I can tell from browsing through it, it looks to be be an excellent reference source. It was a pretty good bargain, too. According to amazon.com, it lists for $29.95 new in hardback and from $15-27 used in hardback. Picking up a used, hardback copy in brand new condition for $4.95 plus tax made my day. At any rate, just letting everybody know that I have a copy if general test questions come up.
