Guest guest
Make absolutely certain the DO or nurse does NOT put any sulfury stuff in the iv-c. No ALA, no DMPS, no glutathione, no MSM, no DMSO. No, no no, regardless of what they say about how safe it is and how many millions of times they have done it without any problems. Fiber is good to take, and magnesium, just to keep your insides scrubbed. AVOID anything sulfury or any chelator. Then the permanent neurological damage sets in. Don't do the experiment and see how lucky you are. This result does suggest you get your plasma cysteine checked (great smokies) as it may be low and if so maximizing dietary sulfur will make you feel a lot better. > Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated! > > Suze
Guest guest
What I did is I took some milkthistle tincture around the time of amalgam removal. I thought the milkthiste seems generally good for you and I have read that alcohol reduces the amount of mercury absorbed. I have no evidence for this (other than that I felt well around the time of amalgam replacement, which is no garantee about how anybody else would feel doing the same). Dagmar. [ ] Is there ANYTHING helpful to take during amalgam removal?? Sorry for posting essentially the same question that I posted the other day. I think I have a fairly sulfury diet already(I typically eat 3 eggs/day for example, plus meat daily and nuts and onions often). Does this mean I should cut back on the high sulfur foods I normally eat during those three weeks of amalgam removal? > > I will be taking things to boost my immune system, BTW. I would very much like to see some of the work that you base this advice on, not that I doubt what you're saying. I just often like to backtrack to the original research on a subject on which there are conflicting views to be able to see what the conflicting views are based on. Off the top of your head, are there any online articles/research that discuss how chelators pull mercury from *amalgams* and do not pull it out of the body (assuming the damage is from its redistribution)? Or is it based on your own experience and unpublished research? TIA :-) > > This result does suggest you get your plasma cysteine checked (great > smokies) as it may be low and if so maximizing dietary sulfur will make > you feel a lot better. Now I'm confused - above you said I should cut back on sulfury foods. Do you mean cut back on sulfury foods just during the amalgam removal process, but that I may need to increase them in my diet in general (if the test suggest so)? Hi Dagmar, I take milk thistle daily already as part of a protocol my ND put me on several months ago. So I'm all set as far as liver support (I think). I hope you are right about alcohol reducing the amount of mercury absorbed because I sure loves my bottle conditions Dogfish Head IPA ;-) How many amalgams did you have replaced and over what period of time? Did you feel fine during that period? Did you feel bad at any time afterward? Did you chelate afterward? If so, using what protocol? Pardon the inquisitiveness - now that the time draws near, I'm wondering what others' experiences have been. Suze

I am in the process of removing my amalgams one at a time, due to finances. ($1265. per tooth!) I had 5 done in a row about 5-6 weeks apart. I have had to postpone the rest, due to basically falling apart physically ,over it. After researching, I believe my thyroid was affected by the released mercury. I was developing fybromaysia, and chronic fatigue. By increasing my armour thyoid, I am improving for sure, but it has been a long 7 months for me. I think that by removing them quickly as you plan, so that you can chelate right away is a good thing. I wish I could do it that way. I do think that even with a good dentist, mercury is stirred up. Maybe I just wasn't as healthy as I thought before starting out. I will look into vitaminC iv drips for myself when I start out again. I don't want to discourage you, but I know I was quite suprised when I started feeling worse rather than better. A friend of mine also has some of the same symptoms when she removed her fillings years ago. She never chelated herself though, and tried many things to get better. Thyoid supplementation helped her in the end too. Good luck to you, nne

My dentist hasn't yet told me what the charges will be, but I'm bracing myself for it :-/ I > had 5 done in a row about 5-6 weeks apart. Oh my God...that's awful :-( I'm already ON Armour now plus a fairly high dose of iodine (which I seem to require) so hopefully that will buffer any possible thyroid issues. Although I'm functioning very well and get compliments on how youthful I look for my age all the time. And the ND I saw recently told me that I have a healthful glow, not the sickly aura that he often sees in patients that are truly sick. (I hope he's right!) I've been eating a very nourishing and nutrient-dense diet for a couple of years now so am hoping that's going to bolster me when I need it. > I don't want to discourage you, but I know I was quite suprised when I > started feeling worse rather than better. I'm not discouraged by it :-) I have a friend who also had her amalgams out several years ago without any special protection that she recalls and it had absolutely no effect on her, symptom-wise. I'm praying I'll be as fortunate! Suze
Guest guest
I had lots of amalgams removed (maybe about 14). I felt fine during most of it. I got lax when I had 3 gold fillings removed and didn't take the vitamin c and the milk thistle. One gold filling did have amalgam underneath (just a bit) and I didn't feel all that well afterwards. I didn't feel too bad either though. I also didn't have the ideal protocol to remove the fillings (e.g. no seperate air supply). I have not started chelation yet, because my daughter didn't do well on DMSA so for our family we have decided on ALA only and I am still waiting for the 3 months to pass, which Andy recommends to wait between amalgam removal and chelation. I had most of my fillings out within about two months, but had the gold fillings and two extractions done later. Dagmar. Guest guest
I have been having my amalgams replaced slowly over the years and I didn't even know it. My dentist stopped using them about 8 years ago. He has not used any special protection when removing them but I have never felt bad after. Also, it has not cost me anywhere near as much and that is even with gold crowns on top of them all. Is the price difference for the extra precaution? H. I just got off the phone with the DO. I asked what was in the Vit C drip and he listed vit C, Ca, Mg, Sodium bicarbonate, B vits and glutathione. I asked if he wouldn't mind giving it to me without the glutathione. Not thinking, I said I didn't want to deal with any chelators till the amalgams are out (forgot that glutathione is not a chelator at that moment). He said I'm obviously operating on insufficient knowledge of this process. And this is the guy that said that there's not one incindence of DMPS challenge being harmful in the literature. And he made it clear he's no fan of Andy. Oh well... This is about the third time he's made me feel like an idiot, but he's the only source for vit. C drip that I'm aware of, so I've got to bear with his attitude for the next several weeks :-( Just venting...thanks for listening :-) BTW, I will look in Andy's book when I get a chance later tonight, but does anyone know why glutathione is contra-indicated while amalgams are in?
