Low Carb or manage carb?

I am on an 1800 cal diet that allows between 35g to 45g of carbs permeal.

Normally I try eat no more than 20 to 25 g of carbs permeal. I've been lurking

in a low carb diet e-list and some of the claims about low carb diets seem to

good to be true.

My question is it better to manage carb rather than use a diet like South Beach?

I've been letting my meter guide me on managing my glucose levels. Thanks.
