Questions regarding filing for Disability

I am toying with the idea of filing for disability. The whole process

is new to me and scares me but I am only able to work 3 hours a day

due to pain and another chronic illness. I am about to lose my health

insurance because I am not able to work the hours needed to qualify

for it. Does anyone have any suggestions on web sites for info on

this? For those who have filed, do you recomend getting a lawyer? My

fibro was diagnoised after a car accident, I don't know if that makes

a difference on the lawyer question. Any advice would be appreciated,

I have to make this decision soon.
