Type X?!?

Well, I just returned from my appointment with the rheumatologist. I

wasn't surprised that he diagnosed me with EDS, but I was shocked

that he said I had type X. Granted, he admited that he didn't know a

lot about EDS, and when I asked about (former) type III, he said

nope, I've got type X. Silly me didn't bring the current nosology

because I figured I easily fell into the HEDS category, and if not

HEDS, then I was the classical type, so I wasn't too concerned about

changes to the nosology. I'm not going to be too concerned yet,

because the rheumatologist said he was going to put a call into UCLA

and to other doctors in the local area to see if anyone knows more

about EDS and wants to take me as a patient. I'm just assuming he

got the types mixed up (especially since he seemed to be using the

old nosology), and I'll get a correct classification from whomever I

am referred to. But I thought I'd share and get some input from

y'all. I can't even find any info on type X, as it has apparently

only been seen in one family...

Thanks!
