We buy Stride Rite shoes from them- and they are always just a little cheaper than going to Stride Rite themselves. For sandals we happen to have gotten the guppy ones- but has funny feet and they don't fit in most shoes. Good luck! Raleigh, NC Sandals > Hello again from an oldie!! Guest guest Posted June 21, 2004 Report Share Posted June 21, 2004 Suzanne, It's nice to hear from you again. Even though Jakob is bilateral, his feet are somewhat different sixes. His left is longer (1/2 -1 full size!) but his right foot is a bit wider. I always make sure to try on both shoes to see how they fit. I think we've gotten all of Jakob's sandals (and most of his other shoes) at either Payless or Target. I try to look for sandals that have multiple velcro straps. The straps can be adjusted to fit each foot. The pair we bought a few weeks ago are from Target. They are Cherokee brand and the style name is Kurt (if you want to see them in a Target store). This pair has 3 sets of velcro straps - 1 at the toes, 1 top of the foot at the front of the ankle and 1 at the back of the heel. We haven't had any problems with them slipping at all. In fact, they're the only shoes he's chosen since the last day of school (I wouldn't let him wear sandals to school this year). Suzanne Hotline wrote: > Hello again from an oldie!! Boy time flies, did Sam start pre-K last year, or is he going this year? Ivy is four, she will be five this summer. Her corrected cf is a full two sizes smaller than her non-cf. Last year we ended up buying three differnt pairs of sandles because we thought that a pair fit properly; then it wouldn't. We finally found a pair at Sears that worked great toward the end of the summer, and she is still wearing them this year. The sandles have velcro around the ankle then also a wide strap that is about two inches wide (that has Minnie Mouse on it) that velcro's near the toes. The velcro " strap " around the toes works wonderfully with her diffent sized feet. When wearing sandles the foot size differnce is very obvious. If we cann't find sandles that velcro around the toes next time I think that we will bit the bulet and buy two diffent sizes of sandles. Ivy does have a difficulty keeping shoes on the cf, however with these sandles she doesn't and any problem with it slipping off. He is two years and 10 months old and every time he sees I'm going to try a pair of sandals on him he starts to holler, no, hurt. I have tried so many pairs of hundreds of sandals on him trying to find one that he can wear. I did finally find him a pair to wear on the beach. But they aren't really for every day wear because they are shaped like a fish (they are Nemo). If I would special order some x-wide stride rite sandals those might work.
