Guest guest
, For the good news, I am happy for you. That's real progress. It pays to be assertive about your care, doesn't it? About the speech problems, you CAN get speech therapy, like what they do for stroke victims, in some states. Ask your doctor for it. It can really help you overcome those foggy days. At least, you can still communicate in writing online, and that is a big plus. Hugs, MM

Guest guest
Happy Monday, Went to the Rheumy on Friday. He said that the Arava usually takes 6- 8 weeks to kick in, but it's already working on me after 3. I'm going to stay on steroids one more week, then wean off and see if the Arava is all I need. He said it's already loosening up the arthritis in my feet. Hooray...finally some good drug news. He ordered a CT scan of my gut. I have the irritable bowel problem that so many of us have and he wants to see if its my blood vessels or my pancreas. I have to say it...I lucked out and got a really good rheumy -- of course I had to fire my last one to get this one, but he's great. The eye doctor said my eyes are very healthy, no drug side effects, and my vision has stayed exactly the same. Good news there too. Had a busy weekend. Did too much Friday and Saturday and paid for it Sunday. Now I'm back at work, so I can rest. Friday is my neuro-psych testing all day. I'm worried. I had a really rough brain weekend. I couldn't get words out to save my life. Finally got so angry that I just yelled for about 15 seconds. Scared the dog and my partner, but I felt better. Sometimes I feel like I'm trapped behind my mouth, and I hate it. That's the one part of this I haven't been able to make peace with. Guess it will take some time. Have a great week everyone. Guest guest
Thats great news . So glad to hear the Arava is working so well on you and your lucky it has kicked in so quick. Wish I could have had the same kind of luck with it as you did, but it seems that I am going to be headed for CellCept - the side effects of that drug is lymphoma - oh joy - but at this point I really don't have any other choices since meds don't seem to want to work on me - Try not to let the neuro-psych testing stress you out too much - I had to go through that several years ago and was so stressed out over it that it made it worse - It really isn't that bad - after your done your going to say to yourself " gee why was I so worried and stressed " trust me - if you don't let it get to you and stress you out - you will be fine..... Take care and try not to over do things now that your feeling somewhat better to how you use to feel. Have a great week... Deanna > Happy Monday, > > Went to the Rheumy on Friday.
