Guest guest
Well, I was able to keep the pain away from my head using the modalities you recommended. However, the pain travelled down my superficial spinal muscles - but I'll take it there any day. Right now it hurts at the base of my skull and to the right and down the middle of my back and to the right. I think the origin of the headaches is muscle imbalance since most of the headache pain can be traced to trigger points and muscle spasms during the headache - and even after. I'm continuing to do research regarding how to overcome it. One intersting thing I thought I'd pass on is that after a headache I usually get what I call an 'imprint' - that is, the pain is gone, but the painful area is still sore (does that make sense?). It feels like a bruise and lasts for several hours. I believe what is happening is that the muscles go into such contraction that they don't get any oxygen and the lactic acid builds up. Then the body takes a while to remove the toxic lactic acid - similar to the burn I used to get when I lifted weights. I found an article at ChiroWeb that I'm going to take a look at - wish me luck. http://www.chiroweb.com/archives/18/10/14.html
