Guest guest
Hi , So glad to hear you're better! I'm having neck pain and headaches now also, but so far, I've been able to sleep...though I wake up several times a night. Mine does not sound as severe as yours, but I do know somewhat what you're going through. NOT FUN! I hope it continues to improve for you. I'm calling today for an appt. with a LMT. I'll keep you informed. Get better! Love Lana
Guest guest
B, This is wonderful news! What a relief! Finally your pain and spasms are almost completely gone!! It's so much easier if there's ways to deal with these things at home when they _first_ start, instead of waiting ages, only to find out the docs haven't a clue. Recently I had a similar experience, only it was a PT(and Mike Uggen's polarity instructions) that gave me the tools. A long standing problem, after years of pain, etc, is much better...Blessed relief!!! Love, CindyH ~ From: B Basically the conservative way is pressure or ice on the muscle spasm/inflammed nerve area till the area " falls asleep " .(clip) This hopefully will eventually allow the subluxation to slip back in if the muscle stops spasing. Between that and the pressure he also placed on it I actually got 3 hours sleep when I got home!
Guest guest
Neck/Head Pain Update Hi All, Well got in to see my old DO on Friday morning after the moron ortho dropped me like a hot potato! I had been to that orthos 1x seven years ago and never went again so whoever I saw I didn't like - my initial impression was valid! - Congrats on the DO being able to help you in a non-invasive way!!! I know what you mean about orthos not helping much.... Bonnie
Guest guest
, That's great news! I so glad you starting to feel better with all the new techniques you are doing. I sure hope it stays that way! Sincerely, S. Neck/Head Pain Update > Hi All, > > Well got in to see my old DO on Friday morning after the moron ortho dropped me like a hot potato! I had been to that orthos 1x seven years ago and never went again so whoever I saw I didn't like - my initial impression was valid! > > Anyway after listening to me and then getting copies of my blood work and looking up info on EDS he came back and said he thought I had a C1 subluxation. Basically a rotary/twist sublux which doesn't show on x-rays. He said it is clinically dx'd by the symptoms you present with (my research since then has found out you can see it with specific CT scans but even then it may be missed). > > He said the subluxed vertebre caused the muscle next to it to spasm which created a self feeding circle - sublux causes spasm then spasm keeps sublux from going back in and back and forth. > > He also said I had Neuritis which is a damaged or inflammed nerve. This was what was causing such severe agonizing pain. The nerve could have been inflammed by the sublux or the muscle spasm. > > He wanted to try the conservative treatment first rather than chiro me in cause he was afraid of causing more damage due to my EDS. Basically the conservative way is pressure or ice on the muscle spasm/inflammed nerve area till the area " falls asleep " . He had me do this in the office with a broom handle while lying on the floor. This hopefully will eventually allow the subluxation to slip back in if the muscle stops spasing. > > Between that and the pressure he also placed on it I actually got 3 hours sleep when I got home! > > I continued over the weekend using both ice and various things to put pressure on the area to numb it. Slowly but surely it has worked! As of this morning I only have a light headache on the back right side and minor neck muscle soreness!! I actually slept in my own bed for the first time in over a week last night. So I am hoping that the sublux has worked it's way back in. That's the one good thing about my joints - they are so loose they tend to go back in all by themselves. > > Just wanted to let you all know that I am okay now - almost 100%. Scarey though that since this happened in my sleep it could happen again anytime, no way to avoid it. At least I now have some tools to work with if it should happen again. > > Hugs, > B. > HEDS, New Jersey, USA > >
