Guest guest Posted June 13, 2005 Report Share Posted June 13, 2005 CAN ANYONE SHED ANY LIGHT ON THE PROTOCOL FOR RECTAL CANCER. NOT SURE OF THE STAGE YET, BUT ASSUME THAT IT IS 2. MY SURGEON SAID NORMAL WAS 6 WEEKS ON CHEMO, WITH RADIATION AND 6 WEEKS REST, THEN SURGERY. THE ONCOLOGIST SAYS 5 FU AND LEUCOVORIN FOR 5 DAYS ONCE A MONTH FOR 10 SESSIONS (IS THIS 2 MNTHS OR TEN?) DIDN'T THINK TO ASK.....DUH!ALONG WITH RADIATION. CAN THEY DEVIATE FROM PROTOCOL BASED ON THE INSURANCE COVERAGE YOU HAVE?............PLEASE HELP......THANKS LORA ANN ANY OTHER INSIGHT WOULD BE APPRECIATED ALSO.
