Guest guest
Hi friends Please keep my 16 year old son in your prayers. He is a pro skater and got hit full force in the face with his board last night while doing a stunt on film. It was a freak accident, but he suffered a major skull/facial bones fracture than runs from his lip to his eye. He sustained a massive laceration to his lip that took many stitches and he is still facing the possibility of surgery to repair the damage caused by the shattered bones in his cheek. He is doing okay considering.. his eye is not damaged although there are bone fragments in the muscle below it. He didn't break any teeth which is miraculous considering the cut in his mouth. His sinuse are still full of blood, but the docs say that will absorb. He did suffer a concussion, but seems to be recovering from it slowly. This accident could have easily taken his eye, so we are feeling blessed in spite of the chance he could have to have extensive surgery before it is over. But, even if he avoids surgery and heals on his own, he is facing a long recovery. He was going on tour this summer and it will be, of course, cancelled. He is devastated mostly by that.. being 16. I am just grateful he is alive and well. Any prayers you feel like sending up would be much appreciated for as speedy a recovery as possible. (Needless to say, this little event has taken the last of the wind out of mama's sails. I have another one graduating suma cum laude this weekend and now I am trying to stretch as thin as possible.) I hope you are all doing well. I apologize for being such a phantom friend, but I just got back from a little " vacation " at the Hospital Hotel myself. Doing fine now, but it was iffy for a while. I just LOVE this disease. Hope the rest of you are faring better! Love to everyone! Sunni
