From what I have been able to tell from your posts, it might be a subluxed clavicle, rib, or humorus. It could be an a-c separation. It might be an actual shoulder dislocation. It might be ligaments, tendons or muscles. It could be fascial restrictions pulling things out of whack. It could be a combination of things. You can confirm or reject some of the possibilites with xrays. You can do the same for other possibilities with palpation, range of motion tests or postural analysis. In short, there are a whole lot possibilities and it doesn't sound like your daughter really knows exactly what the problem is yet. You raised a very valid concern in your first post - and that is the possibility of someone going for some kind of aggressive treatment that could end up doing more harm than good because they don't know enough about EDS. But my big concern at the moment is any kind of " treatment " program until they have first identified the actual problem. If I knew specifically what is happening with her shoulder I might be able to come up with some better suggestions for her to consider. I am so concerned and she is just desperate and hopeful that this PT can stop all the pain and slipping. I know, as many of us do, how that path can go when people seek to treat this EDS who know nothing about it. Am hoping by giving her the insight from all my friends here that she will recognize that I am not being overcautious. She is so sweet, and hurts so much with this.....
