Guest guest
Verl, I got my left hip resurfaced by Dr DeSmet in June of this year and I am back competing on the local rodeo circuit. I team rope about 4 times a week. I have no pain at all. My hip muscles are not 100% yet, but they are probably 90%. I have no restrictions as far as riding horses or any other activity for that matter. Tom > I am a 59 year old coach and I am in pretty good shape except for > two worn out hips. Guest guest
We have heard some good reports on Dr. Vijay C. Bose of the Apollo speciality Hospitals-Chennai, India. I have no idea how far that is from your place. He is personally trained by McMinn and has also very good contacts with Dr.DeSmet. See also www.hipresurfacingindia.com An experienced resurfacing doc can say in the majority of the cases from x-rays whether you are a good resurfacing candidate or not. If he can't, either you are a difficult case, or he is missing the experience. If the femoral head is flatten, it shouldn't be a problem for resurfacing. If the head is collapsed, then it will be hard to do a resurface job. Guest guest
Being a physician myself and reading your XRay report sounds as if you are a perfect candidate for resurfacing. The only potential problem would be the suchondral cyst if it were so large as to dissallow the femoral componant but unlikely. To have the BHR in Belgium costs $13,500 in $US. I just got thru emailing back and forth with Dr DeSmet. You can very easily and rapidly get answers from him by visiting his web site at hip-clinic.com Good Luck, Todd
