Guest guest
Lynda - which helped more, the prednisone or hydrocortisone? By the way, I never heard of prednisone for adrenal support until I joined this group. My mother has been on it for years for Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PMR), which, unlike fibromyalgia, is curable, and for GCA (Giant Cell Arteritis). My neurologist said if my neuropathy gets worse, and the neurontin ceases to help, he will put me on prednisone. I believe it helps with inflammation. .....joan ......I have been taking 5mg for about 5 months now but before that I was taking hydrocortisone for about 11 months. My progress is slow even though my blood tests show that my TSH is suppressed and Free T3 and Free T4 is mid range - they need to be higher....... Guest guest
Joan, most definitely the prednisone. My official diagnosis is fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue syndrome and my doc prescribes neurontin for the peripheral neuropathy. To me, it only acts as a painkiller - that is, it takes the pain away for as long as you take it. He doesn't want to know (or is ignorant about) adrenal fatigue and that is why I am self-treating with pred. Lynda Re: Pred / Lynda Lynda - which helped more, the prednisone or hydrocortisone? Guest guest
Lynda - I suspect I'm getting fibro. How exactly did the prednisone help you feel better? Did it help the fibro and / or neuropathy? Or just give you more energy? Did it help the aches and pains? ....joan > Joan, > most definitely the prednisone.
