Guest guest
I RECENTLY BECAME AWARE THAT SOME 'AUTISTIC' CHILDREN HAVE BEEN MISDIAGNOSED. IN REALITY THEY HAVE FG 2 SYNDROME WHICH IS A GENETIC DEFECT. I WOULD ALSO BE INTERESTED TO FIND OUT WHERE DIAGNOSIS AND THERAPY FOR THIS DISORDER CAN BE OBTAINED. I HAVE HAD A DIFFICULT TIME GETTING ANY PRACTICAL HELP FROM THE INTERNET SEARCH ENGINES. PLEASE E-MAIL ME IF YOU HAVE ANY INFORMATION. THANKS, LINDA KUGELMAN JOHN'S MOM
Guest guest
All of these autistic children all of a sudden have a genetic defect? Mercury kills brain cells and can also cause chromosome damge! > I RECENTLY BECAME AWARE THAT SOME 'AUTISTIC' CHILDREN HAVE BEEN > MISDIAGNOSED. Guest guest
> All of these autistic children all of a sudden have a genetic > defect? When a layman has this idea it is understandable, someone has to spell out the concept that genetic things can't become more common over a short time while autism has exploded. When medical school professors and federal funding agencies insist there is a genetic cause for autism and they are going to find it you do have to start wondering about their sanity. > > I RECENTLY BECAME AWARE THAT SOME 'AUTISTIC' CHILDREN HAVE BEEN > > MISDIAGNOSED. Guest guest
FG 2 Syndrome (as well as FG1, FG3 and FG4) is pretty rare. It is more of a theoretical construct at this time---families with discernable genetic differences are being studied. Many characteristics that are necessary to make this diagnosis are not present in the vast majority of autistic children. There is no clinically offered test for this diagnosis, it is made on the basis of a geneticist's observation of the child. There are labs looking at this on a research basis, meaning you may wish to submit DNA samples with no promise of ever hearing anything back from the lab. These labs are involved at present: Select all research labs Laboratories offering research testing: Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Tours INSERM U316 - Service de Genetique Tours, France Claude Moraine, MD SUNY Upstate Medical University Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory Syracuse, NY A E Shrimpton, PhD; Constance K Stein, PhD If you wish to pursue this possibility further, your next step would be to get your child in front of a clinical geneticist. If you e- me (off list) with which major metropolitan areas are accessable for you, I could help you figure out how to make that happen. ----Lissy [ ] FG 2 SYNDROME AND AUTISM CONNECTION I RECENTLY BECAME AWARE THAT SOME 'AUTISTIC' CHILDREN HAVE BEEN MISDIAGNOSED.
