Hi ,

I think the biggest reason that a lot of foods are not listed as core in the

Dining Out book is that most places add stuff to it...butter, etc. As long as

it is plain, I would count it as core and enjoy!!!

Maureen

Core Question: when does a meal cross the

line?

My wife and I were looking at the Turnaround Program Dining Out Companion

last night and got to wondering:

Salmon is a Core food, right? Suppose you got a salmon dinner at Sizzler

with just plain salmon, a plain baked potato, and steamed vegetables

instead of the " sizzling " veggies drenched in butter? Wouldn't that count

as a Core meal? I would think so, but it seems that the Dining Out

Companion says otherwise if the salmon is accompanied by a starch.

This doesn't make sense to me. Can anyone explain it?

Hi, Maureen. That was my inclination as well: as long as all of the foods

on the plate are Core Foods, then the meal should count as a Core meal,

right?
