Has anyone tried acupuncture for pain relief? Hmm, maybe the next thing I need to learn to do .... Right now " grin and bare it " is our method. ______________________________________ Hi All I used the " grin & bare it " method as well for a long, long time. But I've had a HUGE amount of dental work & my dentist is a personal friend & I really think he used to be more uspet than me, if possible. He tried everything!!! ______________ After over 25 years of torture, he got this stuff that a lot of offices don't usually use, as he told me that it costs him 1 1/2 times the amount of any of the other types of local anesthesia. ______________ I actually took the outside box, so I'd have all of the info to post. It is called " Septocaine " And on the box, it says this: Articane hydrochloride 4% with Epinephrine 1:100,000 Injection. #50 cartridges come in the box, it says minimum contents of each: 1.7 ml. _______________ It is Distributed by: SEPTODONT, Inc. 245 Quigly Boulevard - Suite C New Castle, Delaware 19720 (Product of France) _______________ The NDC # is 12862-1050-2 _______________ Don't be surprised if you just ask for it by name, if they tell you they can't get it or don't use it or whatever. They can get it. They just don't want to because it's more expensive. But that's poppy cock & that's not the words I wanted to use, but as they say, " This is daytime television " and it's " NOT cable " . _______________ So, with all of that info, there is no way on this earth they can say they can't get it or find it or anything & if they do, tell them to stick their heads in the toilet & you flush 10 times. _______________ I have been through years of hell & I believe he is even happier than me, that he got it. I've acutually seen a tear or 2 in his eyes, over the years & I finally had to beg him to stop saying, " I'm sorry " , when he knew he was killing me. We tried everything, every type of anesthetic, even coming in an hour early & injecting every 15 min. or so before he did anything. I have not had one single problem since we started this. I only hope it helps you guys too. _______________ But remember, it is more expensive, but I'm sure it won't break their bank accounts. Dental care is more expensive than I can believe. I was a dental assistant before I went to nursing school. So don't let them give you a hard time about the fact that it cost more. Again, if you have a problem, go back to the toilet flushing method. _______________ I'd love to hear that someone else used it & had good results too. Luv Y'all,

Since they probably bill on some kind of cost plus percentage basis, they would probably make more net and be eager to do it. Sorry, my cynical, business, other side of the brain, background wants some equal time again for a change. It has been feeling kind of left out since I retired. That's part of the Venting Service the Board provides to its members. But I agree with you completely if an HMO is involved.
