Well the endocrinologist has agreed to put me on low dose thyroxin (50 micrograms) as a "therapeutic trial" (LOL gotta love these guys), basically his interpretation of the lab he ran is that my thyroid is "putting out" but that I'm having problems converting the thyroid hormone into action (something about the globulin, it's late and I'm tired, I'll look it up tomorrow!) .. and even though in HIS mind my TSH of 2.8-2.9 with T3 of 91 is reasonable, he's willing to get my TSH down to a a therapeutic level (in the one's) to see if that makes me feel better ... which is all I ever asked, is to get past the MD gatekeeper and give this stuff a chance to help me lead a normal life!!! Of COURSE he thinks that Armour is a bunch of crap ... but I've got an appointment with a guy who doesn't look down his nose at Armour on July 26 so I'm not going to complain :)

My question for you well-educated and highly experienced ladies is... how long should I expect to take the thyroxin before noticing a difference? the doctor says we'll know if it helps me feel better "within a month" but that it'll take up to 8 weeks to see changes in the labs. I just don't want to be disappointed if I don't feel better in 3 days, ya know? I took my first dose today and I'm feeling pretty good tonight, but that might just be the power of optimism :)

Thanks!!!!

Mikki
