Guest guest
Sorry to hear of all your work troubles. I used to teach 6-12 grade music and theatre courses, so I know how much energy it takes just to keep them all on task. What I tried to do to get a little " down time " for me during the day was to come up with a 10 minute exercise every hour to an hour and a half that they needed to do all by themselves without me. I tried to make it a critical thinking problem for them to figure out, or I would give them word puzzles, jumbles, etc. I also found that if you always have a project going where they have to work in groups, you can structure some time for them to work in groups and leave you out of it. I always appointed a different group leader each day, and that leader's word was final...no coming to me to overturn something. Another one I used was to play classical music for 20 minutes and have them color pictures of what they see when they hear the music. Gives you some good down time to relax while still greatly expanding their horizons. I did it weekly and then put up the pictures around the room. I've got other things I used if you want more. The main thing is for you to really relax for even 5 minutes while they are self involved. It helps greatly. I'm off tomorrow...planning on most of the day in bed except for the neurologist appointment. Have a good weekend. > : The Wonderful City of San Diego, In which we both live. Will fall apart without lupies like us. As you work for the City I work in the schools. Don't let them take your Spirit away. I had to learn that with the school I'm working at. First hours got cut. Hey. No one ever saw me sit any where. I kept so busy, So that no boby knew how sick I was. For 4 months I just kept going singing my song. Then July 5th Came and Bang down like Flint. Broke my left foot. BUT Guess what I went to work July 6th. And worked as if I was just find. I loved my job the children/ some Co. workers and the Parents. But I soon found out that in the class i've been working in for 2 years. The other 2 teacher's had it out for me. Which made my days pure HELL.... The y did it after 2 months. And They went to the Director and told her I wasn't able to completely cover my weight. BULL...... I carried those two. Which did come out latter. I got so depressed and I didn't know why I couldn't do more.. > I would drive from home @ 6;00pm from Terra Santa And the 52. By the time I got to the 94 and College I felt as though I could easily fall asleep. But my days were numbered. And Instead of laying me off. Which they knew the couldn't. Or make me be the one who decides on Part-time Sub Status. Well That's what I did. And it back fired on those two other teachers. I worked when, how many hours, which room. And got a 1.50 hr raise. And I loved it all the way home. But that was then and this is now. Starting Monday I'm back to full time and it's with the School agers. And I'm scared as Hell am not going to be able to do it. So What I guess I asking is for some, silly kind of support on how to relax or what ever. Either from you or any one at this point would be just fine. I'm not picky to say the least. And what's this I hear that you do stain glass. WOW I'd love to see some of your work some-time. Well I've been running my BUSY LITTTLE BEE MONTH FOR QUITE AWHILE NOW. So BUSY BUZZING AWAY........................................................ > > > > > > Tiny whine > > > Hi all, > > I'm back to having terrific pain in my bones and muscles.
