I'm training for a triathlon which is on

Girl, you are just amazing. I didn't know you were considering doing

a FULL MARATHON in November (or maybe I did, but forgot?)...I did my

first half in March and am not scheduled for my first full until

December 4th.

If you decide to do the full, that means we'll both be in training at

basically the same time. You can run your race (which from your

message, sounds like it is the weekend before mine) and then I'll get

pointers from you on what to do/or not to do for mine!

What distance are you up to on your long run? I did eight miles last

Sunday. I'm scheduled for nine this weekend. I've actually been

pretty impressed with my pace on the long runs. Back last spring,

when I was in training for the half, my pace during my long runs was

around a 12-minute mile. (Yea, me and the snails were having

competitions!) This past 8-miler, using my Garmin, I realized I've

picked up that pace quite a bit. I'm averaging an 11-minute mile, but

there are several miles where I'm running quite a bit faster (9:30),

yet I still have enough endurance to finish the run. I figure if I

can pay attention and try to run more of a steady pace (rather than

fast, slow, fast, slow), maybe I can up my average pace to 10:00 or

10:30, which I would be happy with for a marathon pace on my first

one.
