newcomer with questions

Hello to all,

After 11 months of long drawn out, extremely draining and sometimes every

two weeks, periods ( of which I have been normal all my life until this) and

trips to the doctors with no solid results....I had a period that shocked me out

of

my resigned state. I passed what I feel was a pedunculated fibroid. I had no

idea what is was until I got on the internet and did a lot of research. Although

I

did save it to show my Dr. ( I know, probably gross) by the time she got back

from holiday vacation, there wasn't much to look at. Needless to say, my last

visit to the Doctor resulted in her wanting me to take the pill. I have tried to

ask

for an ultrasound and further tests, but feel pushed to take the pill, which I

will

not do until I have some solid information. Does anyone have a good Doctor

to share with me in the Bay Area? Has anyone has had this happen to them?

I'm 38 and have two almost grown children. Thank you for putting up with the

questions, I really apreciate all the help I can find. Take care, michelle
