Guest guest
MIKE & ENTITLEMENT TO CREDIBILITY In a message dated 1/30/2004 11:16:57 AM Eastern Standard Time, mike@... writes: I have spent a good part of the last two days trying to decide how much, if any, of what I experienced myself I was going to tell the list. I finally decided that if you haven't all just " tuned me out " by now with my various discussions of energy, meridians, polarity, etc, then relating some of this probably won't totally destroy my credibility. Dear Mike: I read your email & saw your comment. It seemed to me personally, that you were " wrestling " within your own mind, whether or not, or how much of your experiences, you would share with the group & if & how it might affect you credibility. And, you had also thought of those who you think may have, " tuned you out. " If I may be so bold as to say (You bet I will & anyone who knows me, will understand), that anyone who has " tuned you out " , well, that's their own personal choice, to do. But the way I see it, is that if anyone has found anything that that has helped them & it could possibly help someone else, then they would almost be remiss if they did not share their experiences with everyone else. That is one of the most beautiful things about this list. I have been involved in it, almost since it started & it has been an open forum for all to share, support, suggest, inform & just about anything else, kind of place, for people to do exactly as you have done. No one is going to agree with everyone on everything. But if anyone has something to share, GO FOR IT! Anyone & everyone has the right to hit the " Delete " button. And I personally am always willing to at least listen to what anyone has to say, if they feel that they have been helped by something. It doesn't mean that I have to do it, but it's nice to hear about all of the different things that people try. There's no difference between sharing all that you have, then if someone tries to explain to someone else, that they found this one particular thing that is just wonderful. Let's say, for an example, it's a piece of Godiva chocolate. If someone has never tried it, how can you say to them, " there's this great thing out there that is absolutely wonderful & you should try it? " If they try it & they like it, they've discovered a wonderful (in MY opinion), something heavenly. If they don't try it, very simply the haven't lost anything, they still don't know what it tastes like & their life goes on, just as it did before. But if they taste it & it becomes their most favorite treat in their life, you've shared something wonderful with them, that they now love, that they may never have known about it in their entire life, if you hadn't mentioned it to them. The same goes for all that you have done, with your experiences. You've out thrown ideas & suggestions out there & if someone wants to " take a bite, " they may not like it, but it also may become the one thing that truly helps them & they never would have known about it, had you not brought it up. Bottom line, is that this is a free & open forum, (with few limitations) that more or less contain very simple rules & they are the same ones that go, pretty much in everyday life. We try to stay " on subject " and advise if it isn't & courtesy & respect go hand in hand. Again, remember, we all have that delete key on our computers. And, I personally am happy that you have brought all of this to everyone's attention. As you know I personally have been involved in much of what you speak about, for well over 30 years & appreciate your " take " on it all. So my 2 cents, is that if you or anyone has something to say that might help someone else, share it! Happy trails, stay well, C.
