Hello fellow hippies

I had left hip resurfed by Dr Schmalzried 2 months ago. I am a 42 YO

active male, and I must say....I couldn't be happier. I went from

big time pain, to NO pain almost immediately after surgery. I have

had no complications, I've been improving daily, and am pain free.

I've gone through therapy (4 weeks), and am now working on range of

motion and stretching. I am working out, using bike, elliptical,

tread mill (not running yet) and light weights. I can stand and walk

for as long as I want. I actually get a good nights sleep now. I do

take it easy and as a general rule..listen to my body in terms of how

hard I push. My attitiude, sex life ( i am married) and overall

outlook have improved dramatically (by the time I got operated on I

was miserable and really " bummed " out) and I enjoy playing with my

kids a lot more now that I have no pain. Bottom line....If you have

hip problems, and you are deciding on what to do.....I recommend this

operation, and the doctors at the JRI highly. I waited 3 years after

being diagnosed, trying everything I could think of to improve my

condition. Nothing worked? My only regret is that I did not do

this sooner. I had high expectations of the entire process, and

everything that I have experienced has been even better. People have

been and continue to be extremely helpful to me throughout this

entire ordeal, so...if there is anyone out there that wishes to talk

about any aspects of this procedure with me, PLEASE do not hesitate

for 1 second to let me know. It is my pleasure to give back in any

way possible.

Best regards,

Larry
